DEADLINE DATE for applications: May 31, 2013 (Applications must be postmarked on May 31 or faxed into 360-365-3308).

Team-up! Just like any sports team, technology and robotics competitions can be found locally, nationally and internationally. And, like any sports, it takes times and training. Whether your child is interested in competing or just having fun, Glen Ridge FIRST promotes and manages organized technology and robotics activities throughout most of the year. Click here for the team matching application.

Jr. FIRST® LEGO® League (Ages 6-9)

Guided by adult coaches and Jr. FIRST LEGO League (Jr.FLL) Core Values, students (ages 6 to 9) work together as a team to answer a yearly challenge. The challenge has three parts: Core Values, the Show-Me Poster and the LEGO Model. The program focuses on building interest in science, technology and engineering through a real world challenge.

FIRST® LEGO® League (Ages 9-14)

Guided by adult coaches and U.S. FIRST’s Core Values, students (ages  9 to 14) compete as a team to answer a yearly challenge. This competition introduces young student to real-world engineering challenges using MINDSTORM® technology. Teams will participate in tournaments and celebrations.

Odyssey of the Mind (OM) (Grades K-College)

OM is an international education program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students as young as kindergarten all the way up through college. Teams apply creativity, critical thinking and mechanical skills to compete with thousands of teams throughout the world.
